Description: LEVEE METADATA - These levee lines were derived from two sources, the line features designated as levees on the 24K DRG and the digital line features designated as levees present in SSURGO line data for Pottawattamie County, Iowa. The SSURGO data and 24K DRG do not register together well so the levee line was heads up digitized and then corrected using DEM10_HILLSHADE and 2010 LiDAR derived contours. Where the SSURGO data and 24K DRG agreed the levee line was drawn. Where only one of the two datasets indicated a levee the levee line was omitted. Ground truth was obtained in one of the omitted areas, Section 21, Rockford Township, that indicated the road is acting as a levee and that section was added to the levee lines.
